Standard Operating Guidelines Section 7. MUTUAL AID REQUEST 1. Mutual aid is available at any time the PVFD needs assistance. Any PVFD member can call for mutual aid if he/she feels the situation warrants it. If an PVFD officer is responding and a PVFD member is on scene or sees indications that would suggest a mutual aid response then notify the PVFD officer, call dispatch, make the request and advise them of what you need. Have dispatch notify mutual aid units to go to Ponder OPS Channel 7 for communications and contact COMMAND. If requesting mutual aid from Justin or Krum, consider what side of town you are on so we can get the quickest response unless both departments are needed. 2. If the PVFD is being requested for mutual aid, determine what is needed and respond with appropriate PVFD apparatus and personnel. Switch portable radios to mutual aid department’s channel. One PVFD officer should respond whether in the apparatus or POV. Only one of the tankers shall respond to mutual aid unless cleared by an officer. T651 will be first to respond to tanker only calls. If engine and tanker requested then E650 and T650 will respond.
