Section 6. APPARATUS RESPONSE
ORDER
1. Structure Fire Calls or potential major call:
E650, T650, T651, B650, B651, R650, this will assure we
have the maximum amount of water available and all air packs in rapid order.
This also allows us to have all 1 ¾ handlines available if needed. All units
except engine and tanker should park out of the way keeping in mind that the
PVFD needs to leave access to the fire scene for MICU if needed or special
called apparatus.
2. Vehicle Fire:
E650, T650, R650, assures enough water and air packs plus
additional EMS equipment if needed. The tanker can also be used as a blocking
unit for protection. Also we have both foam eductors on scene.
3. Grass Fire:
B650, B651, T651, - E650, T650 and R650 only if absolutely
needed. This allows for coverage to remain in town and keeps EMS unit available.
R650 should not respond to grass fires since EMS calls are a high probability.
4. Control Burns:
B650, additional units on request non-code response
5. MVA/Rescue:
E650, T650, T651, R650, B651, B650 due to Krum responding
with a MICU, R650 will not be responding first even if MVA is in our district.
If patient care is required prior to KFD arrival there is a trauma kit in the
engine. Having the 3 largest units gives us good blocking protection and
provides for extrication equipment to arrive quickly.
6. EMS:
R650, B650, This allows for sufficient amount of personnel
to arrive at the scene and leaves good protection resources at the station.
7. Investigation type calls:
E650, other units on request with response code determined
by on scene commander.
8. Hazardous Material Release:
E650, T650, other units on request with response code
determined by on scene commander.
9. Mutual Request for Tanker:
T651 will respond if only a tanker is requested. If engine
and tanker are requested then E650 and T650 will respond and T651 will remain in
town.
