SEAT/RADIO ASSIGNMENTS
1. STRUCTURE FIRE:
ENGINE 650:
Right front – A: Officer position Incident Command, forcible entry, rescue,
initial attack, radio, flashlight, irons.
Right rear – B: Hydrant man for forward lay if 3 man crew, hose deployment,
rescue, initial attack, flashlight, radio, and sheetrock hook.
Left rear – C: Hydrant man forward lay if 4 man crew, ventilation, 2nd attack
line, utilities.
Driver – D: Water supply, initial attack if 2 man crew and assume B position
duties, radio, assist IC with outside observations and safety, utilities, get
fan and extra bottles ready.
Middle – E: Assist D then C with duties. If second attack line is required
assist C before assisting D.
TANKER 650:
Right – A: Take command if first arriving OIC is engaged in interior operations
and interior feels the need to transfer command, ventilation and utilities
unless 2 man crew on attack unit then join attack team, flashlight, radio,
sheetrock hook. If shuttle operation, assists with set up and then becomes water
supply officer.
Driver – D: Position appropriately for water supply to attack engine, prepare
for shuttle operation, vent, utilities, if 2 man attack engine hook up for water
supply and pump engine, radio
TANKER 651:
Right – A: If T-650 is one man crew and E-650 is 2 man attack assume T-650A
duties, set scene up for dump tank operations. Assumes water supply officer
position if T-650 is one man unit.
Driver – D: Assists with set up of dump tank/water supply operations then begins
to shuttle water.
RESCUE 650 and BRUSH 650 and 651:
Right – A: Assigned by command, radio
Driver – D: Assigned by command
2. GRASS FIRE:
BRUSH 650 and 651:
Right – A: Nozzleman, start pump, radio
Driver – D: Drives, directs incident and incoming units
TANKER 650 and 651
Right – A: Assist driver with water supply operations, radio
Driver – D: Position appropriately for water supply or shuttle operations, radio
3. EMS MEDICAL
RESCUE 650
Right – A: Patient care, radio
Driver – D: Assist with patient care and begin recording patient and vital sign
information for medical report.
BRUSH 650
Right – A: Assist as needed, radio
Driver – D: Assist as needed
4. RESCUE / MVA
ENGINE 650
Right front – A: Directs rescue operations, safety, power unit, radio
Right rear – B: Gets tools, extrication, safety, radio
Left rear – C: Power unit, assist with extrication
Driver – D: Positions engine for use of tools and protection of personnel (fire
and traffic) sets up lights if required, power unit, radio
Middle – E: deploys protection line if needed, assist with extrication
TANKER 650 and 651
Right – A: make sure unit(s) are positioned to block traffic at opposite ends of
accident scene, first arriving tanker find out if water supply is needed and
position accordingly. If not, operate as a blocking unit, assist as necessary
per command, radio.
Driver – D: position unit as directed by PVFD officer, supply engine if needed,
if used as traffic block stay with unit, radio
BRUSH UNITS
Right – A: contact command for assignment, radio
Driver – D: assist as necessary
